On this platform, you can enter into contracts whose profitability depends on how various events are resolved. It can be anything from political elections and major sporting events to the publication of important economic data and even changes in the prices of collectibles.

To create this platform, Coinbase has teamed up with Kalshi, which is licensed by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to operate as a forecast exchange. It was this partnership that became the basis for the entire project in terms of technology and laws.

It is important to understand that launching this service is not a spontaneous decision, but part of a larger strategy. Back in December last year, Coinbase announced plans to create a prediction platform. Now everything is ready: the product is integrated into the general system of the exchange and operates in accordance with American law. The company claims that this reduces risks for users and increases trust in the tool.

This step is fully consistent with Coinbase's stated plans to transform from just a crypto exchange into a universal financial platform. Their goal is to create a comprehensive system where users can do everything from one account: trade, steak, use payment services and now also sign contracts for future events.
