There has been an important update in the field of digital finance in the Philippines. GoTyme, a local digital bank formed by Singapore's Tyme Group and the Philippines' Gokongwei Group, has significantly improved the capabilities of its mobile application. Now, more than 6.5 million customers of this bank can buy and store major cryptocurrencies directly through the application. The list of available cryptocurrencies includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot and others.

This service became possible thanks to cooperation with the American fintech company Alpaca, which provided the necessary technologies and helped implement them into the bank's system. Buying cryptocurrency works like this: Philippine pesos are automatically converted into US dollars, which is usually used for international settlements on the crypto market.

According to Nate Clark, CEO of GoTyme, the new product is aimed at those who want to work with digital assets easier. The goal is to remove the complexities associated with data analysis and the use of various crypto management applications.

It is important to note that GoTyme operates under the control of the Central Bank of the Philippines, unlike conventional crypto exchanges. Customer deposits are insured by the Philippine PDIC, which increases trust in the service among more cautious users.

Such projects, based on technological partnerships and implemented according to the rules, help crypto assets become more legitimate and enter everyday financial life, gradually reducing risks and concerns for ordinary people.
