Hackers have developed a new way to attack cryptocurrency users through the professional network LinkedIn. They pose as recruiters of well-known crypto companies such as Gemini and Kraken, and offer fake jobs with high salaries reaching $350,000.
During the "interview" process, the victim is asked to record a video response, but the system "issues an error" related to access to the microphone and camera. Hackers give instructions to "fix the problem", which leads to the installation of malware on the victim's computer. As a result, fraudsters gain access to the device, which allows them to steal cryptocurrencies and other confidential data.
Experts recommend that users be careful, verify the authenticity of vacancies, and avoid installing third-party software, especially if it requests access to the device.
