The company Truther, which deals with crypto payments, together with Visa has introduced a card that will allow you to pay with USDT. Residents of El Salvador will be the first to evaluate the novelty, and the launch is scheduled for January 29, 2026.

The most important thing about this card is the ability to use funds for payment directly from your self–storage wallets without prior replenishment and without using custodial services. This means that the cardholder retains full control over their assets without transferring them to a third party.

According to the creator of Truther, Rochelo Lopez, the principle of operation is based on an instant transaction. There is no need to deposit funds to the card in advance. When you buy something, the required amount in USDT is automatically withdrawn from your wallet. You will have to pay a 2% commission for this conversion. And Brazilian residents will not pay IOF tax when using the card.

After the test launch in El Salvador, the card will be available to all Truther users. The company presents this card as a way to easily spend stablecoins without first converting them into regular money through exchanges. All this works on the basis of already existing technologies of Truther.

In addition, Truther develops its own wallet, where only you control your funds. He is currently working in Polygon, but plans are underway to switch to Liquid, which will make operations more private. The wallet can store Bitcoin, USDT, and the company's own stablecoin linked to the Brazilian real.

The release of the Truther card along with Visa suggests that large banks are increasingly interested in blockchain. It looks like a new model is emerging where money control and usability go hand in hand.
