Wildberries, a large Russian online store, has begun testing payment acceptance in cryptocurrency. So far, this is a pilot project, available only in Belarus. The company wants to see how to work with the crypt in general from the point of view of law and technology, using a special economic zone – the Hi-Tech Park (HTP), where special conditions have been created for the crypt.

The Whitebird cryptoplatform, which is also registered in HTP, helps Wildberries in this. Buyers do not send cryptocurrencies directly to Wildberries. Instead, they buy an electronic certificate.

Here's how it works: when a customer chooses to pay with cryptocurrency on Wildberries, they are redirected to Whitebird. There he transfers his digital money. Whitebird immediately changes the cryptocurrency to Belarusian rubles at the current exchange rate. After that, an electronic certificate is issued for the amount in Belarusian rubles, which is credited to the seller's Wildberries account.

This feature is now available on the Wildberries website and apps for iPhone and Android. But so far, it only works in test mode for some users in Belarus. You can use Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and TRX and TON tokens for payment.

This pilot project shows that Wildberries is interested in new payment methods and the possibilities of blockchain technologies. The company is in no hurry to launch everything at once, but first wants to collect data and check how everything works. The results of this experiment can greatly influence how the financial system in the field of e-commerce will develop in the future.
