The main goal of this reform is to create a comprehensive control system that will help people move from the usual ways of storing money to more modern investments. Special attention will be paid to developing rules for companies dealing with digital assets and for new financial services.

It is planned to introduce the position of a supervisory planning officer in the updated organization, who will monitor the work of credit cooperatives and associations involved in operations with virtual currencies. This move demonstrates the increasing fusion of traditional financial institutions with digital innovation.

Representatives of the department emphasize that the creation of the new department is aimed at achieving two key goals: guaranteed protection of depositors' rights and strengthening Japan's leading role as the main financial center in Asia. This is a logical continuation of the course of the regulator, which previously expressed ideas about dividing digital assets into commercial and non-commercial types.
