The authorities of the state of Texas have begun to actively engage in the creation of a digital reserve. The first step was to invest $5 million in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). These investments are just the beginning, because the total budget of the program is 10 million dollars.

The use of ETFs is considered as a temporary solution while the creation of a full-fledged digital asset management system of the state is underway. This approach allows you to start forming a reserve without waiting for all the necessary infrastructure to be ready, including the selection of companies for secure storage of cryptocurrencies and the development of regulatory documents for operations with digital assets.

Preparations for the creation of the reserve are in full swing and include several areas. Previously, the state authorities consulted with experts from the crypto industry to get advice on how best to organize the storage and management of cryptocurrency reserves. At the same time, a regulatory framework is being developed that will regulate all operations with digital assets in government institutions.

Different US states have different approaches to working with digital assets. Texas has already started operating, while other states are still developing similar programs. For example, New Hampshire has laws regarding cryptocurrencies, but the state has not yet begun to form a reserve, considering other financing options. Arizona has adopted a narrower regulation that only concerns the handling of unclaimed crypto assets.

The implementation of this program shows how cryptocurrencies are gradually being integrated into the traditional financial system at the government level. If Texas successfully implements its program, it can become an example for other states and accelerate the recognition of digital assets as a full-fledged instrument of government redundancy.
