The Arizona State Senate has begun considering a package of laws that could change the tax policy on digital assets. The initiator is Senator Wendy Rogers, known for her advanced views on crypto regulation.

The essence of these bills is the creation of a whole range of measures. The main law provides for full tax exemption for all operations with the crypt. Plus, a rule is being introduced prohibiting local authorities from imposing their own taxes or fines on companies that maintain blockchain nodes.

Another initiative is an amendment to the state constitution. Wendy Rogers wants digital assets to be exempt from property taxes. This will create permanent protection against possible tax claims in the future.

The acceptance procedure is different. The law on the protection of blockchain nodes can be adopted by a regular vote in the Senate. But the constitutional amendment on taxes, according to local laws, should be put to a referendum. The nearest possibility is a general election in November 2026.

There are enough prohibitions in Arizona without that. Since the beginning of autumn, control over crypto-ATMs has been tightened there. The authorities explain this by saying that they want to nail the scammers who often use these things.

The Arizona authorities have proposed perhaps the most ambitious project at the state level today: to create a zone where there will be no taxes at all for digital assets. Of course, bringing this to life, especially when it comes to amending the Constitution, is not an easy and time–consuming task. But the very fact that such ideas have appeared suggests that politicians are increasingly inclined to give the crypto business more freedom.
