In light of the evolving legislation regarding digital assets, Binance, the leading crypto exchange, is taking active steps to enhance the security of its customers' funds. Recently, the exchange carried out a significant asset transfer from its SAFU (Secure Asset Fund for Users) reserve fund, transferring a significant portion to bitcoin.

The acquisition of 4,225 BTC worth about $300 million increased the total number of bitcoins in the fund to 10,455. This operation is a logical continuation of Binance's previously announced strategy to diversify investments within SAFU.

The SAFU Fund was founded by Binance in July 2018 to compensate for possible customer losses that may arise due to unforeseen circumstances, such as technical failures or cyber attacks. The funds in the fund come from regular deductions from trading commissions. SAFU asset management has been transferred to an independent organization, the Nest Clearing and Custody company, which ensures neutrality in management.

The average purchase price of bitcoin under this deal was approximately $70,403. Binance representatives emphasize that this is not a speculative operation, but a measure aimed at strengthening trust and protecting customer funds.

According to CryptoQuant analysts, Binance maintains its leading position in the market, showing high trading volumes in both bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, as well as attracting a large number of users. The increase in SAFU volume is directly correlated with the growth in the scale of the exchange's activities and its goal is to provide an adequate level of guarantees for an ever-expanding customer base.
