The Miden blockchain project, known for its privacy developments, has entered into a cooperation agreement with KODA, South Korea's leading digital asset storage service. Together, they plan to create a comprehensive technological and regulatory framework to simplify the entry of large financial institutions into the world of digital assets and allow them to develop new products based on this.

The main goal is to find a balance between the transparency required by regulators and the preservation of commercial secrets and customer data of financial institutions, which is a key issue for the introduction of digital assets by institutional investors.

This move comes amid intense discussions about changing the regulation of digital assets in South Korea. The Financial Services Commission (FSC), the main financial regulator, is considering the possibility of lifting restrictions in force since 2017. These restrictions essentially prohibited banks and investment companies from directly trading cryptocurrencies. Initially, they were introduced to reduce speculation and strengthen control over the movement of funds. Regulation is now shifting towards creating clear rules, including approving corporate accounts for digital assets and the possibility of launching spot bitcoin ETFs.

KODA, created with the participation of KB Kookmin Bank and the Hashed blockchain investment company, has extensive experience in working within the framework of current legislation and an excellent understanding of compliance. Miden, in turn, provides a technology platform specifically designed for financial applications with a high level of privacy.

This agreement is an attempt to prepare in advance the technological and procedural framework for the expected arrival of institutional investors. The focus will be on secure communication channels, protocols for complex transactions (such as derivatives settlements or tokenized asset management), and the integration of new services into existing monitoring and reporting systems.
